Script Writer/Researcher (Part-time, Internship, Freelance)

Rendia helps doctors and patients understand each other by using engaging animations to convey important medical information. We are hiring a script writer for our videos covering topics of general wellness, medical conditions, and treatment options.

Duties and Responsibilities

The script writer will research medical topics and write the scripts for Rendia’s patient education videos. The writer is responsible for balancing clinical accuracy and a patient-friendly tone, while also adhering to our script writing guidelines. We aim for a voice that is informative, reassuring, and professional, in order to provide both the best patient experience and provider value.

The writer is responsible for managing the script writing process and producing deliverables to meet deadlines and scope. As part of the editorial review process, the script writer will share drafts with Rendia’s animation team and script review team and soliciting and incorporating edits. To ensure the accuracy of medical topics, the script writer may also send out script drafts to our subject matter experts (healthcare professionals) for review and incorporate edits to produce the final deliverable.

The writer may also help prioritize and manage the script backlog alongside the product manager.

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent technical and creative writing skills (please send samples)
  • Experience writing about health topics or complex information for a lay audience
  • Knowledge of credible health information resources
  • Experience managing the editorial review process within a team a plus
  • Experience writing video scripts a plus


  • Expert at communicating complicated scientific topics into accessible language for a lay audience
  • Interest in human biology and anatomy
  • Ability to focus on the details without losing sight of the big picture
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organization skills
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving capabilities and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Open to critical review and able to embrace change
